River Place Senior Living Response to June 19 Incident
We want to share an important update with our residents, families, and the broader Forsyth community regarding an incident that occurred at River Place Senior Living & Memory Care. To protect the privacy of those involved, we have waited for the right time to make a public announcement.
In the early morning hours of June 19, an unauthorized individual entered our building and committed a criminal act against a member of our staff. Thanks to the quick thinking and swift response of our team members, the situation was contained and Monroe County Sheriff's Office was contacted immediately. The suspect was located and taken into custody shortly after. We are deeply proud of our team member’s courage — acting swiftly and decisively to protect our residents and staff.
The safety of everyone in our care — residents and team members alike — is something we take very seriously. We are working closely with law enforcement and conducting a thorough review of our security measures to ensure the continued safety of everyone in our community. Due to this being an ongoing investigation, we cannot answer any questions via social media. Please send all questions to our Chief Marketing Officer, Kate Leach at kleach@wjgllc.com
We are grateful for the professionalism of the Monroe County Sheriff's Office and their rapid response.
